Love the site Leah, I find your articles very thought provoking, and always have the right tone. You manage to get your point across without offending believers which is no easy task.
IMHO the focus of this vid on the "mountain of business" or money pretty much sums up all religous orgs for me.
I have only been to USA twice on vacation and I was blown away with my first view of TV Evangelist personalities and their various sales pitches. I had never witnessed anything like it before.
In Ireland where I am from, the Catholic Church was written into our Constitution in 1922 when we gained independence and has had a virtual stranglehold on the country ever since. There is no Divorce and even the notion of Pro or Anti Choice on abortion does not exist. Any person seeking abortion must travel to UK.
Anyone watching the media will be well aware of the horrific tales of abuse recently uncovered which is really just the tip of the Iceberg. The Vatican has had a major influence on the private lives of Ireland for well over 50 years and has obstructed the civil rights of many groups, homosexuals, agnostics and also anyone not keeping quiet about their influence.
I applaud the efforts of this site to keep Church and State separate in the US because from personal experience it is a task of tantamount importance.

Thank you so very much for your words of support! They really do carry meaning for me. People need to be seriously slapped over here into understanding that a push for theocracy is not an exaggeration and we are not immune.
It is a huge task, but I will not give up. Last week I was just appointed to the Board at Military Religious Freedom Foundation, which is an enormous boost in the right direction. We are joining forces to fight this.
I am also working on a new site that will be joined at the hip with this one. I will continue to blog here, and the 2nd site will be a Call to Action site to rally people and give them steps they can take to actually engage in this and feel a sense of accomplishment. It will be called, "ReBiblican Politics.com" I hope you will continue to come back and follow our progress.
My sympathies to how frustrating it must be to live under that type of theocratic rule. I do not envy you that.

The seven mountains dogma is their justification for greed of the highest order. I can feel God weeping when that video plays. Seriously, do you really think Jesus would give a rat's ass for government or politics? I have always felt that he promoted personal kindness and generosity. The rest would take care of itself. Instead of "Love they neighbor" they seem to believe "Screw thy neighbor out of anything you can."
They are not particularly fond of the biblical verse, "It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than a rich man to enter heaven" crap. (Of course, Palin has probably rationalized that to exclude her because, after all, she is a woman…)
No, here is the type of biblical verse they prefer to cling to and quote, "Proverbs 8:17-21 says, "I love those who love Me, and those who seek Me find Me. With Me are riches and honor, enduring wealth and prosperity. My fruit is better than fine gold; what I yield surpasses choice silver. I walk in the way of righteousness, along the paths of justice, bestowing wealth on those who love Me and making their treasuries full."
That came right off a recent "We need more money in the next 5 days" plea for a prominent Dominionist propaganda site called, God TV…don't bother going to unless you have the patience and stomach for fraud in the name of Christ.
OK, I am a HUGE fan of Dogemperor because of Daily Kos! I'm TOTALLY ashamed of myself because I always thought that Dogemperor was male. Regardless of gender, I TOTALLY bow down to Dogemperor. OOOOPS! How TOTALLY sexist of me. You folks are the ONLY people who are covering the Dominionist movement.
Could someone dig stuff up on Sharron Angle and Dominionism???? I'm not saying that Harry Reid is perfect, but Sharron Angle in the Senate would be a NIGHTMARE. And we all could name a whole list of idiots that could be elected to our government!
