Love the site Leah, I find your articles very thought provoking, and always have the right tone. You manage to get your point across without offending believers which is no easy task.
IMHO the focus of this vid on the "mountain of business" or money pretty much sums up all religous orgs for me.
I have only been to USA twice on vacation and I was blown away with my first view of TV Evangelist personalities and their various sales pitches. I had never witnessed anything like it before.
In Ireland where I am from, the Catholic Church was written into our Constitution in 1922 when we gained independence and has had a virtual stranglehold on the country ever since. There is no Divorce and even the notion of Pro or Anti Choice on abortion does not exist. Any person seeking abortion must travel to UK.
Anyone watching the media will be well aware of the horrific tales of abuse recently uncovered which is really just the tip of the Iceberg. The Vatican has had a major influence on the private lives of Ireland for well over 50 years and has obstructed the civil rights of many groups, homosexuals, agnostics and also anyone not keeping quiet about their influence.
I applaud the efforts of this site to keep Church and State separate in the US because from personal experience it is a task of tantamount importance.

Thank you so very much for your words of support! They really do carry meaning for me. People need to be seriously slapped over here into understanding that a push for theocracy is not an exaggeration and we are not immune.
It is a huge task, but I will not give up. Last week I was just appointed to the Board at Military Religious Freedom Foundation, which is an enormous boost in the right direction. We are joining forces to fight this.
I am also working on a new site that will be joined at the hip with this one. I will continue to blog here, and the 2nd site will be a Call to Action site to rally people and give them steps they can take to actually engage in this and feel a sense of accomplishment. It will be called, "ReBiblican Politics.com" I hope you will continue to come back and follow our progress.
My sympathies to how frustrating it must be to live under that type of theocratic rule. I do not envy you that.
