A Pastor Weighs In and I am Thankful!

My article today over at PoliticusUSA is a follow-up to the discussion around our post here yesterday and includes a sea of sanity from a theologian – Pastor Howard Bess of Palmer, Alaska. As I said in that article, it is mainstream Christians like Pastor Bess that make it possible for me to call myself a Christian Agnostic rather than an Atheist.

I applaud his ability to hold true to his faith yet embrace modernity, recognizing that we live in a different world than those of biblical times. Please take  a moment to click here and read his very important words on this topic.

Thank you,

Leah

Whenever I see that Leah has posted a column by Pastor Bess, I drop everything to read it. What a joy to hear a voice of sanity in the noise that passes for a theological discussion. Thank you.

I left organized religion back in my early 20′s. I feel I have a great relationship with God. I just can’t stand churches. However, I’ve been reading Pastor Bess’s column for a few years now. His is the only church I think that I would willingly attend and joyfully listen to his words. Thank you Sir.
