A Proud “American Patriot” Tells Us What it Means to be a Real American

A proud asshole has given his permission to put his full name to his hate speak…how gracious of him. After all, I am not one to deny a person their freedom of speech!

The recent controversy is over this picture where we can clearly see for ourselves that American military personnel felt it was not only appropriate to pose for this photo with a Nazi SS flag…but to defend it. The weak attempt to convince us that these men are unaware of the Nazi SS symbol who just happened to come up with their own trademark for “scout snipers” is insulting to our intelligence.

The author of the following email, Mr. “Too Short”, represents the dark underbelly of a minority of bible-based extremists that thrive in our Armed Forces and give a black eye to Americans in general – not to mention their fellow service-members who they put into danger with their short-sighted, ignorant extremism. He is the most vile example of the “new conservative”. (Notice the Nazi SS flag with black background).

Mr. Too Short took it upon himself to write to us at the Military Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF) to express his hideous hatred toward Muslims and our founder, Mikey Weinstein – founder of MRFF in the following email…

My son is a career soldier.  My daughter-in-law is, too.

I m incensed about your whining about the behavior of our warriors.  So what if they piss on dead Taliban killers!  More power to them!  So what if they INNOCENTLY show a flag that had two S’s on it!  They didn’t even know about the Nazi SS.  You need to take the broom stick out of you ass and spend your time doing something useful.  I am tired of liberal morons who live by the code of political correctness.

The United States Marine Corps has my full support.  I sincerely hope their snipers never stop killing these rag head bastards.  The best thing that could happen to our planet is if we killed ever single muslim; man, woman, and child and then deleted all mention and history of the religion and its founder.

I proudly sign my name as an American Patriot…

Paul Battle Brunner

and by-the-way… GO FUCK YOURSELF, MIKEY!!!!!

Paul B. Brunner “Too Short”

Ah yes…let me guess…Mr. Too Short is most likely one of those Dominionist Christians who absolutely love, love LOVE Israel…Jews…not so much! (And there is no doubt that he is well aware that Mikey is Jewish). As an Executive Board member of MRFF I join Mikey and all our volunteers at MRFF in defense of the nearly 30,000 men and women in all branches of our military who have sought our help in protecting them from heinous jack-asses like Mr. Too Short.

96% of those brave men and women are Christians who recognize the same extremism in the likes of Mr. Too Short that exists in the Jihadist extremists who falsely claim to represent the Muslim population world-wide.

Well, Mr. American Patriot Too Short…the only thing that allows me to go to sleep tonight is knowing that you are a pathetic minority.

In what way can you claim that Nazism is “Bible-based”? Or any of this Dominionism, which is clearly in opposition to the teachings and direct commandments of Jesus? These people “don’t give a rat’s ass about Jesus”, which you must admit is a popular position. This is probably the most satanic, Satan-inspired and empowered movement in American history.

    • Leah says:

      Linda,

You are making my point. These are not mainstream Christians – they are Dominionists. Dominionists of all stripes root their theology strongly in the Old Testament and then cherry-pick from the New Testament. They have scripture-twisted the Bible into goals and messages unrecognizable to mainstream Christians. Their goal is simply – Dominion. Their messages are filled with hate and intolerance, and their constant rants are dripping in fear and paranoia. What do you get when you fill people’s heads with all of that? Indoctrinated followers like Mr. Too Short.

The attitudes toward the poor, the indigent and the downtrodden are in direct conflict to the teachings of Christ. Their dismissal of the needs of others over their own wealth building is in direct conflict to the teachings of Christ. Their constant pursuit of conflict and elevating potential conflicts at home and globally is in direct conflict with the teachings of Christ.

So…I am in agreement with you…”they do not give a rat’s ass about Jesus” and it would be advisable to them to stop asking WWJD? (What would Jesus do?) I am certain they would not embrace the answer.

Thank you, for your comments, Linda

Nazism operated on multiple levels of knowledge. The lower ranks were mostly Lutherans and Catholics like everyone else in Germany. Many clergy collaborated. The first fascist movement to come to power was in Catholic Italy. The term “falangism” practically means Catholic fascism; it was the name of Franco’s allied movement in Spain. Pius XII supported them all. The reason: anti-Communism. Plenty of Christians supported the murder of Reds and Jews.

What God meant to a serious Nazi is hard for me to discern. But I don’t think it’s very different than what it’s usually meant to our own bigoted, land-stealing, slave-whipping ancestors: a tribal God who plays favorites. Our ancestors had beliefs just as monstrous as the Nazis, as did the imperialist Britons, French, even the Dutch. But their racist excuse was that they were “improving” the non-white pagans they conquered. Germany came too late to get in on that, so it could only prey on fellow white Christians, in two world wars. What ideology does a wolf develop to prey on other wolves? One that strips all hypocritical charity and morality away, leaving only total worship of victory at any cost.

  2. Linda says:

They are not patriots, they are traitors. They didn’t just pick a flag with two s’s on it; that is the graphic “logo” of the SS.

Another thing they are not is Christians. They may be white Anglo-Saxon Americans and persons of color ambitiously riding along to achieve the increasingly rotten American dream, but they are not believing Christians. Understand this, the Nazis were occultists. The SS were the most occult group of Nazis, and at the same time the most wicked and cruel of the Nazis, which doesn’t fit our propaganda for the New Age, but it is true. They were also the most antichrist. Making deals with the devil will do all of that to you, although the propaganda is that it is belief in Jesus Christ that will make you ruthlessly cruel. Please do not blame Biblical, genuine faith in Jesus for this great evil. These people are running a false flag in claiming to be Christian. I am afraid that the SS flag is probably accurate. If being “Christian” did this to them, in what way? What did Jesus say that made them so wicked? At the very least, embracing Nazism, etc, is a repudiation of “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” And everything else that Jesus said, not the least of which is His gospel of salvation, is completely against what these people are embracing. Their social Darwinism is obviously against Christ, not from Him or for Him. No wonder Calvinism is being promoted as the true faith: it so minimizes the love of God and replaces it with a god who created moral evil in his own heart For His Good Pleasure, irreparably “reprobated” most people just so he could send them to hell rather than give them an opportunity to be saved from their sin, and other cruelties that show that this god is not the God of the Bible, and that the inventors of this theology did not know Him. These people are like the Christian Identity skinheads, in fact may be those young people grown up, who had their racist “Christian Identity” but were Satan-worshippers. Please do not allow them to make you associate their evil with Jesus Christ, who in no way deserves that lie.

I’m a 30 year military veteran. These troops knew what they were doing. They consider themselves the baddest of the bad. They don’t deal with death op close except to see the results of their sniping. Eventually these people are going to be back in the US, and what will their lives be like. The military sets these things up and then leaves the troops hanging. How do they get their adrenaline rush. These people gravitate to the police fields and we end up with what we are seeing on our streets from the police today. The bottom line is the officers that allowed this should be court martialed.

    • Leah says:

I could not agree with you more…this is dangerous on so many levels.

    • Craig says:

I agree. I was a lieutenant in the Military Police & we were constantly being recruited for civilian police departments…A number of my service members ended up in civilian police careers.

  4. majii says:

It’s too bad that “Too Shawt” doesn’t realize that it is his kind of thinking that puts our military personnel serving in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other nations where there are Muslim majorities in danger. He’s not as much a patriot as his mind leads him to believe that he is.

    • Leah says:

Precisely, he is not a patriot at all…rather a frightening example of the dumbing down of our conservative demographic who sign up in the name of Geeeezus!

      • super390 says:

We should not discount the possibility that the right-wing leadership KNOWS these offenses will be reported throughout the Moslem world. They want an unending cold war (with murderous hot flashes) against a billion Moslems. They want terrorist attacks to justify further fascist measures.

I’ve often felt right-wingers since ’08 have been standing around trying to rile each other up until one of them finally loses it and shoots the President, while the rest plead that they knew nothing. Well, this is an extension of that. Hyping our soldiers up until there’s an unforgivable incident, worse than My Lai or Abu Ghraib – but they will all order us to lower our standards and applaud it as a test of our patriotism.

John Hagee is even helping to build Israeli settlements, and other US fundamentalists are petitioning Israel to get Christian settlers recognized as Israeli citizens. Imagine what happens when these whacko transplants provoke a bloodbath on the West Bank. Will Fox News portray them as Israelis or Americans – or will it become impossible to tell the difference? It will all be one war.

  5. A Walkaway says:

It’s too bad that many Muslims overseas cannot see that “Too Short” might also be describing his intelligence and morality – and that he doesn’t represent the rest of America. This sort of attitude and behavior just feeds anti-American sentiment and even supports the language and goals of terrorists (both Christianist and Islamist). It’s disheartening to the thinking people around the world, and the people being brainwashed by their news sources and religious leaders (yep, happens in Islam too) are fed additional reasons to hate the Other.

The sad thing is that attitudes like his are very common in some areas. I’ve been hearing (when I am forced to go to places frequented by dominionists or run by them) that sort of attitude on a regular basis – kill all Muslims, kill all LGBT people, kill all liberals… I swear that their religion is truly a religion of death rather than life. The sad thing is that you cannot talk to them any more… and if you try to get them to see how hateful, death-centered, and dangerous they (the “Conservative/Good Christians”) have become and that they’ve been totally mislead regarding the character, teachings, and practice of other religions, they reject you as a “damned Liberal” (sometimes “God damned Liberal” – as in already damned by God).

To my shame, when I was a Pentecostal and rabid Assemblies of God cult member, I fully supported that thinking. That sort of thing was being preached back in the late 70s, although I will say that Islam really wasn’t on the radar – it was the dread COMMUNISTS that were the threat. I’ve learned that everything, EVERYTHING they taught me was a lie or used/twisted to support a lie (exception – there IS truth in the Bible, but you have to dig for it and stay focused on the essence of Christianity – the teachings of Jesus). I fully believed that this world would be a better place if Liberals, Gays, and communists/socialists were all put to death, and that if everyone was Christians like the Pentecostals, this world would become a new Eden. Boy, was I wrong, and the sad thing was that I couldn’t see the hypocrisy and bullshit right in front of my eyes (too brainwashed and manipulated). So it’s really also nothing new, and central to the fundamentalist churches (because it causes an “Us vs Them” attitude – which drips from “Too Short” missive).

I think that hatred of the Other may be why the social sciences have recently been under attack by the dominionists and their Republican allies (refer to Scott’s comments about anthropology for instance). They don’t want to learn that Muslims, LGBT people, and even the long-time-hated “liberals” are people just like them. They don’t want their nice comfortable ethnocentric hate-filled existence disturbed by facts and reality. I do know that they have been directing their students away from classes that teach evolution or about other cultures, and those degrees which don’t emphasize evolution (or equality or anything like that) are what are being sought. That is why we have the big push for STEM… because they think that evolution has nothing to do with Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (wrong), and they won’t have to learn about other people – which would blow their church’s teachings right out of the water. They do NOT want their young adults to learn how much they’ve been lied to. That is also why they often are against higher education (exception – bible college for minister wannabes).

Although “Too short” wouldn’t listen, he REALLY needs to have an education. It’s probably going to take a really miserable experience (or several) before he wakes up to what has been done to him. At the same time, MRFF is doing a good job in fighting this crap – as long as the non-dominionists in the military know someone’s got their back, they will have additional resistance to the takeover attempt going on right now.

  6. Diane DP says:

“NNOCENTLY show a flag that had two S’s on it! They didn’t even know about the Nazi SS.”
Not only is he a jerk, he is a liar too. I cannot believe, unless they were stupid too, that they did not know what they were displaying. Of course they did know what the flag meant or why would they use it?

Why was it horrible to pee on dead soldiers? And they call themselves ‘Christians’? Then he forgot the golden rule that all Christians should live by, “Do unto others as you have them do unto you”.
Or of the 10 Commandments “Thou shalt not kill.”

He is NOT an American Patriot. he is a small, small man.

    • Leah says:

They prefer the god of the Old Testament…all that eye for an eye and retribution language plays right into this bible-based cult of Dominionism.

They not only give Americans a bad name, but the trash the teachings of Christ that mainstream Christians follow.

  7. Sharon2853 says:

Wow! 2 short is a radical racist with a murderous heart. He pretty much echoes the same vile religous hate as those terrorists.

Back in my day, it was Viet Nam and as you know, thousands of lives were lost and if you want to experience a haunting, sad reminder – visit the Wall in Washington.

I believe the US military should NEVER tolerate the behavior 2short defends. We have a moral obligation to show mercy and respect. It’s supposed to seperate us from the enemy.

I don’t know what it’s like to be engaged in combat so I can’t say how I’d behave in their shoes. However, I can say I’m beyond saddened and offended by some of the recent behavior of our soldiers that has exposed the most vile and disqusting acts in combat. And it includes the murders of innocent civilians.

We faced the same type of circumstances during the Viet Nam days and it’s a sad reality of war – but I still don’t agree it should be tolerated.

We are better than this as a nation – there is no easy answer and I thank every single soldier that defends our country but i also beg all of them to remember their humanity.

  8. Craig says:

I served in the military. I think all citizens should. I think this guy “Too Short” as he calls himself is describing the length of his penis or his height. Probably the former. I’ve got a rather short dick but it doesn’t send me into a frenzy as it seems to do for Too Short. Mr Too Short, I suggest you buy a porno mag as they advertise a bunch of dick lengthening devises. Maybe with a longer dick you would be less of one.

    • Leah says:

A little harsh, but he opened that dialogue on his own and I share your frustration, Craig. I am so tired of not sharing just how crude and hateful these zealots are out of fear of offending people. This is who they are and if they are willing to put it out there…then I will obligingly share their stunted world view.
