Sarah Palin just announced that she will not run for the office of President of the United States in 2012. It just goes to show that there is truly no predicatble road for this Party that has no real leaders.
I admit that I am surprised and now have to say “you were right and I was wrong” on this one to several of you. Lawrence O’Donnell will be saying I told you so, and Rachel Maddow will be using my refrain. Already they are immediately touting that the real power behind conservative politics in America is…the behind-the-scenes influence of that caricature of Dr. No – Karl Rove. Some things just don’t change. Here is Sarah’s 2012 swan song:

After much prayer and serious consideration, I have decided that I will not be seeking the 2012 GOP nomination for President of the United States. As always, my family comes first and obviously Todd and I put great consideration into family life before making this decision. When we serve, we devote ourselves to God, family and country. My decision maintains this order. My decision is based upon a review of what common sense Conservatives and Independents have accomplished, especially over the last year. I believe that at this time I can be more effective in a decisive role to help elect other true public servants to office – from the nation’s governors to Congressional seats and the Presidency. We need to continue to actively and aggressively help those who will stop the “fundamental transformation” of our nation and instead seek the restoration of our greatness, our goodness and our constitutional republic based on the rule of law.
From the bottom of my heart I thank those who have supported me and defended my record throughout the years, and encouraged me to run for President. Know that by working together we can bring this country back – and as I’ve always said, one doesn’t need a title to help do it.
I will continue driving the discussion for freedom and free markets, including in the race for President where our candidates must embrace immediate action toward energy independence through domestic resource developments of conventional energy sources, along with renewables. We must reduce tax burdens and onerous regulations that kill American industry, and our candidates must always push to minimize government to strengthen the economy and allow the private sector to create jobs.
Those will be our priorities so Americans can be confident that a smaller, smarter government that is truly of the people, by the people, and for the people can better serve this most exceptional nation.
In the coming weeks I will help coordinate strategies to assist in replacing the President, re-taking the Senate, and maintaining the House.
Thank you again for all your support. Let’s unite to restore this country!
God bless America.

We are seeing desperate plays unfolding as all of us sit back and watch how this GOP field is playing out. Yesterday it was Chris Christie, today it is Sarah Palin.
Don’t take your eye off what is really important now that some of the celebrity watch will be off the election – and that is political Christianity in conservative politics.
This is like watching a production with a surprise ending and we need to all stay tuned.

I hear Michelle Malkins name mentioned a lot among people who listen to Conservative talk radio , and you have to give Newt props for literally making the great economy under Clinton.
Got myself on the waiting list for "It's Classified," Nicolle Wallace's novel that was touted as a fictionalized exposé from a former adviser to the McCain-Palin campaign. It came and it's a crappy novel–so carefully disguised by unlikely scenarios as to be nearly worthless as an exposé–but I plod on. At the halfway point, Tara-Sarah is VeeP and suffering a breakdown that her handler husband exacerbates. Don't buy it. I'll get back to you.
Herman Cain is starting to look a Palinesque: obviously mentally unstable, bad case of impulse control issues, doesn't bother with his homework or trust his handlers, weird message and weirder advertising.
Republicans have made election season a target-rich arena for a retired psychologist.
Umm, Leah my dear, you owe me a cheeseburger, right?
Bachmann is outtathere too, in the Spring sometime I'd say, also as I predicted.
That leaves one theocrat left standing in the GOP primary, Governor Goodhair himself. There are those commentators who seem willing to count him out already.
No no, that's a mistake. I've been saying all along that what this GOP primary is really about is the degree to which the GOP party apparatus has been colonized by the theocratic wing of the religious right.
So far it's too early to say, the thumpers have not yet unleashed the church registries for the mailings and robocalls, and the volunteers have not yet cranked up to drive granny to the polls, so the truth is we don't know. And Bachmann's base is not exactly going to fall all over itself to vote for a Mormon, not on a bet. Palin's either.
No, counting Perry out is completely wrong-headed at this point. All he has to do is hammer away at Mitten's Mormonism, not do anything deeply stupid, and find a message a little more substantial than praying for rain and he'll still be there in good shape when the first caucuses and primaries actually begin.
Keep up the good work.
Oh, and cheddar cheese, onions, tomato and jalapenos, if you please. Hold the pickle.
First, let me say that I am known to make the very best burgers! And I will happily pay up
I agree with your assessment of where we are in this field shaping up in the GOP. There are far too many that will never cast their vote for a Mormon so there will be a split of the voting bloc.
I will go shopping for fresh jalapenos!
America loves it's '50s and this Texas Governor/Wyoming Snake combination will yield a double redux and give the Dominionists their required cover: Ricky Perry/Lizzy Cheney

I know, everyone in Italy say that you have to support all the Italian team but it's so not gonna happen, i mean i dislike the Juventus & Inter so why would I want them to win ?
While in France, there is everyone rooting for team from others country, like srsly, there is more Real or whatever supporters here than Lyon's!! Well of course some support Marseille, Bordeaux and even Lyon but not a lot! And I can say that the Marseillais are definitely NOT rooting for Lyon!
Proverbs 16:18 – "Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall." She still thinks she's relevant. Her latest book tour shows she isn't. I also noticed at the last few appearances that she wasn't wearing her wedding rings. Hmm…
I agreed with you. Now I'm wondering how the puppet masters framed this news for her. I've been thinking about Queen Esther lately. Esther was not the leader of her people, she was the savior of her people. Esther had no political power. She was the favorite wife of the harem, and, as such, couldn't even join her husband for dinner without his invitation. She took her life into her hands by going and asking a boon of her husband. After he granted her people the right to defend themselves, she was still in the harem awaiting news of the battle. When it comes to Sarah, besides the obvious "who are her people", I suspect the puppet masters have been interpreting Esther to Sarah along these lines. She is cheering from the sidelines. That still does not take into consideration the "kryptonite" of lack of attention and being in the spotlight. I wonder if the puppet masters failed to take that issue seriously. It shall be interesting.
Way too much leakage as Levy would say. "Dairygate' and Dar Miller to be specific in this case…
And don't forget the water in the gas for Curtis Menard.
