Here is the promo…

This Week on GodDiscussion Radio: Christian Dominionism and ReBiblican Politics

We’re in for a treat on GodDiscussion’s radio podcast this Thursday, February 4.  We’ll be speaking with Leah Burton, a former lobbyist and prolific blogger at God’s Own Party.  Leah’s upcoming book, God’s Own Party? – Keep Your Bible OFF My Ballot!, explores the rise of Christian Dominionism within the Republican Party and urges true conservatives to take the party back.  The book includes interviews with notable experts in the field of Dominionism/Christian Nationalism such as:

Christian Dominionists want to take over what they describe as “The 7 Mountains,” which include government, church, education, family, media, arts, and business.  Here’s a video of Lance Wallnau explaining the origin of “the 7 Mountains Mandate,”  in which Christians seeks to gain influence either overtly or covertly, as “infiltration.”

We’ll also talk about Leah’s new project, ReBiblican Politics, an interactive “call to action” resource addressing:

  • ReBiblicans: Who Are They & How to Identify Them
  • Politics & Religion Never Mix
  • Christian Dominionism/Nationalism & the 7 Mountain Mandate
  • Code Speak Lexicon
  • Stealth Candidate Watch
  • Voters Guide for Non-ReBiblicans
  • American Civics Refresher 101

We believe that it is crucial that every freedom-loving American voter understands Christian Dominionism.  We hope that you can join in tomorrow night.  If you can’t call in, our online chat room will be open and your host, Deborah, will field questions and comments to our guest.

Leah, this is OT, but I just read a comment on Andrew Halcro's post from 2008, titled Flashback Blog:Shadow Governor. The comment shows just how frightening these fundie's mindsets are – not that we've had any doubts anyway. Here tis – and it comes with a warning – barf bags may be needed…..

I agree with influence. As a Christian Woman, it is important for Sarah to consult with her husband and it is perfectly right for her to have her husband make the decisions for her to carry out. What is wrong with that? It is important as a Christian woman who believes in the sanctity of marriage to obey her husband. Sarah Palin is doing what it takes to please her husband. She will get him in the White House and there is nothing that anyone can do. It is ordained by God. White people have to do what it take to keep this Country strong for true Americans. It is not about being a Republican it is about supporting and building the sanctity of this Country for true Americans. Let's be honest, Sarah is being a devoted wife and is helping America to strengthen its moral fiber by getting her husband into positions of power. If more women were supportive and served their husbands and lifted them up, America would prosper. It is only right that Todd Palin make the decisions for the state of Alaska and when Sarah become the Vice President he will support his wife by helping her with the Vice Presidency. Did you think that as a good Christian Man that he would allow his wife to go into politics if she would be making decisions that he did not approve of? He is a honorable Christian man and is doing his duty for God and his Country by making sure that his wife do her Christian duty. He is a good American and I am so glad that he did not secede from the Union and is working with the United States through Sarah. He is a man of God. Sarah Palin is serving her husband and that is all right with me. Sarah should and must consult her husband on the decisions she makes for Alaska. After all he allowed and supported her to become Mayor of Wasili, and now he is allowing her to become the first true Christian woman of the United States of America. Husband first, Alaska second, the Children third, the United States fourth and Jesus for us all. We should be proud that Sarah knows her duty as a woman and as a wife. True Feminism"

OK – gotta go get my tums & extra strength excedrine now….. :)

    Keep up the great work!

OMG, Kat. That was just disgusting! I would have thought some junkie was just making this up if I hadn't already done enough research to know these people really exist. Thanks for posting so more people can get the picture loud and clear.

    • leahburton says:

Aren't they special? I need to include this is the post I started for today….

  2. CGinWI says:

Hi Leah, this is way off topic, but I would really like to see your take on the child stealing missionaries in Haiti. The minute I saw "Idaho" in the reports, the hairs on the back of my neck went up. I have heard that adoption, foster care and even taking foreign exchange students is a part of the Dominianist agenda. Can you explain more about this?

    • leahburton says:

Your request is timely! That is in fact, today's topic and your intuition is spot on. These people are not innocent Christians simply swooping into Haiti in the best interests of Haitian children. Posting soon…

  3. Deborah says:

Leah, you were a fantastic guest. Thank you so much! The archive will be available from BlogTalkRadio/god-discussion for those who may have missed the show.

Thanks again. All of us learned something, and what you had to say was quite motivational.

  4. BeeEss says:

Very motivating discussion. It is so good to know one is not alone and not crazy. Or some sort of conspiracy theorist. Thank you!
