Rebiblican candidates are sprouting up like mushrooms in the Northwest rainy season.
It is time! 2010 is starting with a race to congress and beyond! We must all start paying attention immediately. Those of you that have gmail accounts I would like to ask that you set up “Google Alerts” for your local and state elections. One of the best ‘alert’ phrases you can use would be “[county/state/congress] run for re-election”.
As you receive these alerts create a folder in which to save them. Then make a list of candidates in your surrounding area. If this sounds foreign or challenging I will be happy to answer your questions and create step-by-step instructions for creating alerts. It is very easy to do and yields valuable information that comes to you!
Here are three candidates that came into my email today…

GOP casting wide net in effort to recruit 2010 hopefuls
By Paul Kane and Chris Cillizza
Washington Post Staff Writer
Friday, January 8, 2010
The Republican road to redemption may well begin in Frog Jump, Tenn., where a gospel-singing farmer with no political experience is running for Congress.
Without any staff, Stephen Fincher raised $300,000 in September and delighted GOP leaders, who believed they had finally found a credible challenger to Rep. John Tanner (D). Then things took an even better turn for the party: On Dec. 1, Tanner announced he would not run for reelection in 2010. Two weeks later, Fincher, 37, visited Washington for the first time in his life, to get together with GOP leaders eager to meet the newcomer who helped push a 21-year incumbent into retirement.
For a beleaguered Republican Party, Fincher’s candidacy is part of a recruiting renaissance following back-to-back elections during which the national political environment was tilted badly against it. In races for the House and Senate, Republicans have found credible candidates that range from intriguing first-timers such as Fincher to ambitious politicians such as California state Assemblyman Van Tran, who took a pass on previous entreaties to challenge Rep. Loretta Sanchez (D-Calif.) but is ready now…[read entire article here]

Bradley Byrne says ‘every word’ of Bible is true
The Huntsville Times by Lee Roop
January 07, 2010, 6:01AM
HUNTSVILLE, AL - “I believe the Bible is true,” Republican gubernatorial candidate Bradley Byrne said here Wednesday. “Every word of it.”
Byrne’s testimony came as he tried to clarify an earlier statement seized on by his opponents for the GOP nomination.
Byrne had been quoted in theMobile Press-Register in November as saying, “I believe there are parts of the Bible that are meant to be literally true and parts that are not.”
That quote has followed him, including to his appearance at a Piggly Wiggly grocery store in New Hope, where Byrne came to announce his first big endorsement this year, from the Alabama Retail Association.
When notice of the press conference was posted on al.com Wednesday morning, several posters said things similar to this:
“Just got a call from a person at my Church letting me know about this,” said uafan1198. “My family will not be shopping at Ragland Piggly Wiggly stores anymore or anything else they own…. I don’t shop at places that think it is OK to stand next to people who don’t believe the Bible is all true.”[...]
The litmus test for Bible-Belt GOP loyalty is stringent! You had best believe that JC Himself dotted every ‘i’ and crossed every ‘t’ or you are toast as a conservative candidate!
And over in Massachussetts…it is a battle too close for comfort already with an older version of Levi Johnston, Rep. Scott Brown (who posed provocatively or Cosmopolitan in the 1980s – sans hockey stick) and Attorney General Martha Coakley who has been endorsed by the Kennedy clan to replace recently deceased Senator Ted Kennedy. This election will be held January 19th, 2010 and begins the season.
Just the fact that the Teabaggers and the likes of Laura “Unleashed” Ingraham endorse and support him gives me the heeby-geebies! That aside – he is an ardent pro-lifer, family values kinda guy and anti-gay rights promoter.
#3 State Rep. Scott Brown (R) Massachusetts
“If Massachusetts State Senator Scott Brown pulls out a surprise win against favorite liberal Democrat Martha Coakley for the Senate seat formerly occupied by Ted Kennedy, Americans across the country will cheer. The bluest of blue states, Massachusetts has been run into the ground by Democrats for generations. The political left–funded by trial lawyers and unions–is as much entrenched in New England today as it is in California and the Pacific Northwest. Coakley should be leading by double-digits but a new poll shows Brown only 9 points behind the frontrunner. Sen. Brown has served this country in uniform, and is a genuine conservative.” ~ Laura Unleashed (a very interesting self-titled column on Laura Ingraham’s site – ICK!)
They are starting to pile up and we have to keep track of them. Do I have any takers out there who can make the time to track the latest new candidates and compile a list? I need all of you to help me with this task so that we can put together the most complete source of of vacant seats, existing and potential candidates. From there we will be able to develop a Voters Guide with a Stealth Candidate Watch.
Remember, even though many of the Stealth Dominonist Candidates are going to be running as Republicans…not all republicans are Rebiblican. We have to be equally as watchful of candidates running on any other ticket. The reason I refer to them as stealth is for that very reason. They will nestle in to what ever party will assure their success.

>I don’t shop at places that think it is OK to stand next to people who don’t believe the Bible is all true.”[...]
I don’t drive on highways where other drivers don’t believe the Bible is all true.”
I don’t soldier in countries where their citizens don’t believe the Bible is all true.”
I don’t eat in restaurants where other diners don’t believe the Bible is all true.”

Exactly! how 'bout…"I don't breathe air where others don't believe the Bible is all true"…
My guess is that even though he is a self-proclaimed "family values" guy that he is not near conservative enough for her liking…although he looks enough like Richard Gere to intrigue her.
Is Granny O'Payme going to support this guy after what she said about Levi?

Who wrote that stupid article? Near they end the author says this:
"And, frankly, you must remember Massachusetts is the state that kept sending Kennedy and Kerry back to the Senate again and again and again. Voters there, clearly, don’t care about issues, job performance, competence, or anything else cerebral in their decision-making or they wouldn’t have kept rehiring those two clowns."
And yet the only qualifications the author mentions for Brown are:
total babe, great looking, smart, articulate, nice, easy on the eyes, young, funny – oh! – and 'just too dreamy.'
Cerebral? hmm….I think not.
That was the very special and "unleashed" Laura Ingraham…need I say more….
Nope!!
Leah, long time reader, first time poster. I've come over here often from blogs related to Palin.
First off, I've met Senator Scott's daughter. She was on American Idol a few years back and made it relatively far. She seems like a nice girl but her every interaction, in person and on TV, appears forced and fake. I suppose its only natural considering her parents are a TV reporter and a politician. And there are some rumors about what her dad used to say about her that were sort of creepy, a la Joe Simpson re:Jessica Simpson. Things like how nice she looked in a dress or up on stage.
Bradley Byrne is from Huntsville. Which made me interested in sharing something I found while researcher Cathy Maples, the woman who won lunch with Palin. Maybe I could believe that woman is of Native American decent. But after hearing her speak, its hard to believe she's president of a defense technology company. Funny thing is, there are a lot of "Native American Women" run defense contracts out of Huntsville and the surrounding neighborhoods. Select Alabama on this website and see what comes up:
http://www.sba8a.com/
"In August 1998, through a memorandum of understanding (MOU), the Small Business Administration (SBA) granted USDA the authority to award 8(a) contracts directly to 8(a) firms. The objective of the "8(a)" Program is to help eligible small firms become independently competitive. To be eligible for 8(a) Program participation, a small business concern must be at least 51 percent owned, controlled, managed, and operated on a daily basis by one or more socially and economically disadvantaged persons."
http://www.da.usda.gov/smallbus/8a.htm
Hmmm…no bid contracts from the government handed out to disadvantaged minorities. How is this in line at all with Republicans? It seems pretty anti-free market and pro-affirmative action.
And just how many native american women are there in Huntsville and are they all CEOs of defense/technology companies?
Thank you for those links! I immediately noticed the connection between Alaska/Alabama with Native Corps like Tyonek having entities in Alabama. Really appreciate this. And you are right about the Repub hypocrisy…but we all know that the rules do not apply to them. I have found from personal observation in Alaska politics alone, that they are experts in ignoring the government contract rules. "No Bid" is a common practice.
Scott does seem to have a problem with self-editing. I read several different accounts of a very inappropriate performance at a High School he was at during an assembly as guest speaker. And that was only in 2007.
My pleasure! I hope that they are helpful and that something get's published about it eventually. I have a feeling that a well intentioned program is now being used to defraud the government while also siphoning in money to republican causes, such as Cathy Maples' donations.
I no longer live in MA but I'm really hoping that enough people turn out for the special election to reflect the true feelings of the state, which is very liberal and progressive. I mean, in 2008 we overwhelmingly voted against decreasing taxes so that state programs would not need to be cut.
Keep up your excellent work and I look forward to reading your book when its published.
It seems odd that you sound surprised that Laura Ingraham endorsed Brown. It's not like she was ever going to endorse Coakley.
Hardly likely…no surprise…just ongoing entertainment at the depths of ignorance
Wow…I guess the creepy rumors I heard were all true. It didn't take long for Scott Brown to say something inappropriate about his daughter, he waited until the concession speech. The rumors I heard were even more explicit.
Can you please call him out on this whole "pick-up truck" lie? He is not a populist. His daughters went to an elite prep school, the family is wealthy, he is no average guy. These are rich people riding on the backs of hard working citizens, pretending to be something they are not. Just like Bush. Hardly a cowboy, every-man from texas: he was a conneticut born, yale grad, son of the president, who owned a baseball team. That's not a problem but don't pretend you somehow relate to the people through common experience.
