Palin Spews 7 Mountains Mandate Rhetoric ~ Reclaiming ‘America for God’

Here it is people…straight from the poster gal of Political Dominionism…her part in the “Great Commission” could not be more clear…

Palin: Rededicating to God’s Will Would Help U.S. Leaders Find More Answer’s to the Nation’s Great Challenges

By PoliJAM | December 5, 2009

In a video made a couple weeks back but released by the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association on Friday, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin called on the United States to “rededicate” itself to seeking God’s “will for our great nation,” saying “that humbleness, with that kind of contrite spirit” could help leaders get more “answers to so many of the great challenges that we’re facing” on issues such as health care, energy and national security.

Pre-existing Cond2“I believe our country has been touched by God because when we formed our union, leaders back then dedicated our country to God and said that we would seek His will for our great nation.

“I think if we could get back to that, that humbleness, with that kind of contrite spirit, I think that we would be able to be provided more of the answers to so many of the great challenges that we’re facing, and these are huge challenges. Whether we’re talking about health care, whether we’re talking about energy independence, whether we’re talking about national security measures, no one person has all the right answers.

“It takes a united nation, and it does take godly counsel, and it takes prayer and answers to prayer a collective humble heart of a nation seeking God’s hand of protection and His blessings and prosperity. I think if we could get back to that, our country will be a safer, more prosperous and healthier nation.”

“Get back to that”…? When were we there to begin with? I am making Hrafnkell’s post about “Mythical America” – you know the one – that debunks the notion that we were founded as a Christian nation.

Palin has made continuing efforts to insert God into country. This will not stop.

  1. When she was mayor of Wasilla one of her first acts was to dedicate Wasilla as a “character city”. This is a thinly veiled program rooted in Dominionist origins, most notably based on the teachings of Bill Gothard’s definition of “character”. Gothard’s teaching focuses on seven “life principles”, 49 character qualities, and 49 commands that Jesus gave.
  2. As governor of Alaska one of her first official signatures was – yeppers! Dedicating the State of Alaska to Jesus Christ
  3. And now we have this vow  - to “re-dedicate” America to seeking god’s will

Not only does this continue to demonstrate a total and absolute disregard for diversity of faiths in America, it establishes how she does and will persevere to implement a biblical basis to legislate our lives.

This is why I do what I do, and need all of you to keep getting this message out there. We have too many people who refuse to take this seriously.

As a Christian, I object to Palin's idea that her views and the views of the churches she has attended are far more important than those of all the rest of us she doesn't think of as "real" Americans.

From one Grandma to another…decency is universal… as are greed and intolerance.
Whether born to this country or naturalized, most of us care for this Nation of Immigrants, this "Not Melting Pot" but "Salad Bowl" of colors and belielf systems, of multitudinal cast-offs of societies, of opportunists of all kinds, of brainiacs and regulars caught up in the excitement of exploring a new continent.. Iit is those of us whose minds are open to the inevitable… Change… who will carry the torch into the future of a truly multi cultural society… I fervently hope… may it not be wishful thinking
for the next generation and thier offspring …

  3. justahuman says:

Where's Ms. Palin's humble, contrite spirit? There's nothing humble/contrite about her new house, her vacation to Hawaii, her proclamations,or her demeanor.
How, exactly, has her actions represented the teachings of Christ?
    From the Treaty of Tripoli:
    Article 11 reads:

Art. 11. As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion; as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquility, of Mussulmen; and, as the said States never entered into any war, or act of hostility against any Mahometan nation, it is declared by the parties, that no pretext arising from religious opinions, shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries.
The treaty was signed at Tripoli on November 4, 1796 and at Algiers (for a third-party witness) on January 3, 1797, finally receiving ratification from the U.S. Senate on June 7, 1797 and signed by President John Adams on June 10, 1797. (Wikipedia)
Further research proves this Article to be valid, ie. http://www.stephenjaygould.org/ctrl/buckner_tripo

I'm saddened by her hijacking the beliefs of many in this great nation. I'm saddened by her actions to divide this nation.
May the Goddesses/Gods have mercy on her soul.

    • fromthediagonal says:

Look at the dates of this treaty…
      History… conveniently forgotten… at humanity's peril… as before… in all cultures!
Will we ever learn? I doubt it…

Sarah Palin is a very sick woman. Her day is coming when she will have to
face her judgement day. May God have mercy on her soul.

I hope that Palin had a huge impact on the lives of every one of another faith and those Christians (The real ones) who see her and her ilk for what they really are ! Power and money hungry they will ride roughshod over anyone who gets in the way (Evidence the Senators and Congressmen that care nothing about those without healthcare who die each and everyday , They even had the audacity to pray it would'nt change ! I Dont ever recall these holier then thou praying to fix it ,they pray for people to die, lose everything they have, and The Commander in Chief (The President) To fail in everything he does.Where is the Compassion and the Charity for this Country.I can answer that THEY DONT HAVE ANY!!!!! I'ts time to get these Phonies out of Office they've caused enough problems and this year has been proof . Are they Americans ?? Answer this !! Do real Americans want to take over the Country and RULE OVER OTHER AMERICANS AND KILL THEM IF THEY DON'T BELIEVE THE SAME AS THEY DO OR TREAT THEM AS SLAVES Seems more like they are Dominionists and Fundamentalists FIRST and Americans (Well Judge For Yourself)you think it might be last.

    • fromthediagonal says:

I have said for a very long time:
"They still burn us, those of us who think differently…they just use different methods…"
      May I be wrong!
You are stretching beyond previous boundaries.. .
Strength and Elasticity to your thoughts and deeds…
We protect your back… as you protect ours… for we all need support if we are to succeed. Ing

    • Someone quoted on FSTDT (quote #68747) made a particular comment: "America WILL become a Christian republic even if we have to write a whole new constitution. Millions of us are dedicated to this righteous cause." (Apparently this quote was found in Richard Dawkins' hatemail section, so go figure.) I shudder because I've seen proof that this ISN'T just the ranting of a single loon, because, well, we've got whole denominations trying to pull this off, and all it takes to start a revolution is enough likeminded people with enough gumption to go on and do it, and…it sure seems like there are that many (given how popular Sarah Failin is these days), while the rest of us are sitting back…

      • leahburton says:

No sitting back here my friend! We might be small…but we are mighty! I mean that…I have personally witnessed the success of what one person can do not just once but several times. Most recently when I testified against Wayne Anthony Ross last spring and his resulting rejection. (That really endeared me with Palin).

You are so right! It is not the ranting of a lone "loon"…there are many. And people need to be reminded that it does not take a majority to dominate. They will joyfully trash the constitution and re-write what ever is necessary to serve their goals if given the opportunity. We have to work together to never let that happen. I am continuing my Action Steps and will be ready to publish those soon so that all can take ownership in this push back against religious extremism.

      • fromthediagonal says:

Steve, please clue me in on the full name of FSTDT! I am lost! Since you mention Richard Dawkins, I was thinking of several Humanist mags, but I am drawing a blank!

  5. MO Inkslinger says:

If Sarah continues along this path, she may be putting herself in danger. There are some fanatics in some of these faiths that may want to rid America of this woman.

  6. fromthediagonal says:

    Wrote stuff… it disappeared… that's ok… your posts have said what i felt…
Love to all on the Solstice! Happy New Solar Year! Ing

  7. 1smartcanerican says:

I resent the idea that Sarah speaks for me – she does NOT! I don't believe that we are a Christian nation, nor a Muslin nation, nor a Wiccan nation. We are a nation of individuals who have the right to believe what they wish, in harmony with one another.

Sarah's divisiveness is abhorrent to me and I will fight against her belief that her religion is the only true religion and should be forced on all. I have the right to believe, or not believe, in a specific faith or dogma.
I was disgusted to see the praying for America by Bachmann et all. It turns my stomach to see such disregard for others as displayed in this dominionist attitude.

I will fight with you Leah.

    • fromthediagonal says:

      OK… 1smartcanerican… may I borrow and call myself a germarican? …;-)
I rather like that connotation, for it carries "germ"..
Would that be a germ of an idea… or germ of an illness?
I believe that totally would depend upon whether that term is looked upon by a philosopher or a scientist… and neither might be correct if they talk beyond each other. ( Is there a lesson in this?).
It seems we have both in our circle of correspondents… and we all should appreciate that, for we
      all learn from these discussions…

      • 1smartcanerican says:

germarican works for me :) I think I would lean toward 'germ of an idea' as it sounds much more positive – but I suppose a bad idea would be negative. Hmmm – one could get tangled in this idea.

        • leahburton says:

:) love it you guys…tangled indeed…thoughts and ideas are the point. Even Germarican. So I am thinkin'….Palin is Wamerican? Matmerican? (Being a 4th generation Alaskan – be kind…she is NOT one of us)

  8. majii says:

So the great divider herself believes that were she to become POTUS we'd have a united nation? Bull snocky! IMHO, it would only widen the division. That she doesn't recognize that she is a polarizing figure shows a lack of self-awareness.

Grandma Nancy, I'm with you. I'm also a Christian who objects to Palin's contention that the churches she has attended are more important than the churches that the rest of us "non-real" Americans attend. My Bible says that God wants Christians to be advocates on behalf of the poor, widows, and orphans, but she never shows any concern for them. Her concern seems to be focused on money and fame, not on doing the Lord's work as charged in the Bible. It would seem that Christians would run as far away from her as fast as they could, but I guess following her twitter and FB releases are more important to them than following the teachings of the Bible.

    • fromthediagonal says:

majii.. you nailed it… Money and Fame! That IS their ticket, their Religion! It is a false one, for sure!
No matter what you… or I… or anyone else believes, it is morally WRONG!
Ethics, Altruism and assorted and sundry philosophies and traditions agree with what you believe.
Hang onto your Way of Being… bring others to Understand… to Know that this Is the Way to Be.
The more I hear form all who post here, the less I feel alone… Thank you…

    • leahburton says:

It is important that when she refers to united…that isn't including the rest of us. Only "rell Amurikans". She definitely advocates for her version of what 'c'hristianity means to her and her followers. I too, learned an entirely different perspective that I still maintain is mainstream Christianity which teaches caring, compassion and an obligation to "do unto others as you would have others do unto you"…you know, all that 'kindness and tolerance of others' crap that is such a nuisance to the Palin 'c'hristians who believe in retribution, vindication and self-persecution. It is a frightening sect these folks belong to…

      • Didn't dogemperor quote on dailykos someone who said nondominionists should be stripped of their citizenship and deported? Ugh.

        • leahburton says:

Yes…Alex did write about that…and it is frightening. They discuss internment camps for HIV/AIDS victims; imprisoning and/or deporting homosexuals; and forced conversion of non-dominionists. And this is not a joke. They will throw Catholics under the same bus as Mormons, Scientologists and pagans! But for now they invite them in the club because they need the numbers to win…

  9. Sara Ann says:

Palin speaks for herself always. It's a wonder her head fits through the doors she goes through. We just all need to pray that she will go away.

    • leahburton says:

Eventually she will dissipate into the dark corner she crawled out of…but for now we must be grateful in a weird way…for had she not erupted onto our radar of American politics, we would be lacking the best poster gal of Dominionism we could have ever hoped for! She is a bigger boon to our cause of exposing these extremists than any one else to date. …and THEN she can hang in her bubble on Lake Lucille…

    • fromthediagonal says:

According to Palin, God accomodates, so she may barge through!…
I think God may just… eventually… one of these days… have enough of the blame…
shoudl that happen, I hope to not be around!

  10. nswfm says:

She sure is a character: jackass, a dumbass. Hard to believe people are this patheticly stupid. Please, may she soon be stopped. The country is messed up enough without her adding to it.

    • fromthediagonal says:

Remember, you can help those "pathetically stupid" (your words) by enlightening them!
This will be terribly difficult, but nevertheless worth the effort, if you can shine some light into the darkness of their not-knowing. I wish you, and all of us, Strength, for we shall need it, if we are no make a difference.

  11. ks sunflower says:

Sarah Palin and those politicians (Sam Brownback, DeMint, Bachmann, et cetera who had the prayercast yesterday) are harming the perception and reputation of American Christianity.Their ignorance, self-absorption and greed for power are going to permanently diminish the dignity and worth of Christians who know and live their faith quietly in humility doing good works.

Life is difficult enough without going out of our way to hate and belittle each other. It is embarrassing and frustrating to see them become instruments of negativity. They work so hard at it, too. If only they would devote half as much energy doing things that actually made life easier, safer, and healthier, they could transform the world; but they seem intent upon destroying, condemning and harming those who do not share their narrow vision and the very earth they contend their God created. How very, very sad – for them and for us all.

My parents were raised as Catholics, and then Methodist. They raised me to find my own answers with the only parental provisos being: (1) "bring no shame onto yourself or our family – always think about the consequences of your speech and your actions;" and, (2) "being kind if the best way to honor God, yourself and your family."

Those two guidelines certainly guarantee that I will never be one of Sarah's flock. However, those two guidelines have encouraged tolerance towards others and a deep sadness when I see and hear others acting without regard to the sacredness of beliefs other than their own. They diminish themselves and their vision of God.

    • fromthediagonal says:

      You speak of ideals…
      ideals worth living for…
      and dying for…
may we not have to prove our willingness…
      It has happened before…

    • Linda says:

sunflower, you are an example of a true christian with the words you speak. You know the old saying,,, talk the talk, walk the walk. Free speech is one thing, but coaxing harmful behavior is criminal and if it’s not, it should be. I will never be part of a flock that incites violence or listen to rhetoric that puts down another human being. Thanks for your post

  12. AlaskaSundog says:

I'm hoping she'll shut down on her own but barring that it's going to have to be an accumulation of all her lies, flaws, corruption, arrogance, designs, etc. dumped into the public eye in a concerted effort by concerned citizens. The media has given her attention, but no scrutiny. This needs to be a very public enlightening– for the independents. Most of her core will stay unless her actions to have Trig stillborn become public. She's a threat to whatever peace the world could hope for & a particular threat to our country, people, animals, freedoms, environment. Her theocratic mandates would imperil a pluralistic society so she needs to be eliminated. Whatever I can do, let me know.

    • fromthediagonal says:

AlaskaSundog… you put my thoughts into perfect words! We must keep speaking our Words, we must keep walking our Truths, and Above All, we must keep spreading our Knowing!

  13. GenieO says:

David Barton isn't the first, but certainly the best known and most successful history revisionist. He has books, DVDs and a powerpoint presentation that gets sold to churches, Christian schools and homeschoolers. He's quite the draw when he stages his shows at churches. Most Americans aren't really that well versed in American history, so they believe his crap.

A really good book to arm yourself with the REAL story is The Godless Constitution by Kramnick and Moore. It's a modest size and easy to read, but loaded with facts and interesting details that prove that the founders intended this to be a secular nation. Another good book is Liars for Jesus by Chris Rodda. It is more academic but still very readable. It is much larger and power packed with great information. I promise you won't be disappointed and you will certainly need this info because this is one of their most effective gimmicks.

  14. WakeUpAmerica says:

I totally agree with you, Leah, and I am a Christian. It is arrogant as hell for her to claim this nation for "her" christianity or for any religion. I seriously doubt that God gives a rat's ass about the boundaries of countries and politics. He is in the business of souls not countries. Furthermore, I am fairly certain that if he did care about politics, he would be a democrat. He cares about individuals and not about wealth or greed. He cares about loving one another and helping the less fortunate. Sigh…. I also think it is arrogant as hell to think that he only spoke to Christians. How do we know whether or not he also spoke to Muslims, Buddhists etc. as perhaps a different "god" than he spoke to Christians? Just a thought.

  15. fromthediagonal says:

ARRRGH! Please excuse the typos… it is late in my "neck of te woods"…

  16. Lilybart says:

not so sure the character thing is working out in Wasilla, isn't it the Meth capital of Alaska and then there is that corrupt family that lives there….

    • leahburton says:

It is, in fact, the meth capital of Alaska and rates right up there per capita-wise when compared to the rest of the country. Palin is all about do as I say – not as I do!

  17. ferob says:

If they believe so fervently the word of God and he answers prayers. Why can't they grasp the fact that in 2008 he told them NO! If they believe in God they should be backing his every move. God put him in office.
Or, doesn't that fit their program?
    Such hypocracy.

  18. cri_de_coeur says:

Oh dear. I'm afraid most of my friends on Face Book are friends from my 30+ years as a fundamentalist. One of them who reached out to me as a "friend" put this comment on FB last night. BTW, he is an assistant pastor of Assemblies of God. He doesn't know yet about my "falling away" or "backslidden" status. Here's what he wrote:

"* is NOT afraid….. They may want to take Christ out of Christmas, but they can never take Christ out of me. If you are proud to be a Christian and are not ashamed of Christ then post this to your status for 1 day as a light to the world. Most people will be too ashamed or scared to do it. God Bless those of you who can…"

Since most of those who post on his FB are of his flock, I feel a little hesitant to challenge him in their presence, but I am tempted (oops, did I say tempted?) to question just who the "they" are that he is referring to. And what's with the use of the words "proud", "ashamed", "scared" ?

    • fromthediagonal says:

The message seems cryptic unless one surmises that he is trying to haul back some of his flock who seem to slip from his grasp. Why not ask him? I do not know if you would experience shunning of some sort, but why not politely clear the decks? It will be very difficult after 30 years,
but let them hear the Cry of your Heart! Let them know that you find Inner Peace in your own rituals, your own spiritual understandings of Life, Love and Kindness. If they cannot accept that, then you will know that the Path upon which you now are walking is the right one for you, and any doubts will recede further into the past. I wish you Strength in your decisions!

      • cri_de_coeur says:

ftd, (not the florist), the asst pastor and I have not crossed paths in over 30 years and I have no idea who the people are in his church, so I'm not worried one iota about what they think. Funny, but I find myself feeling sorry for this guy. I think you are correct that he must feel threatened by all the information and choices out there that people have now. Here's what I posted on his FB page. Let's see if any one of his sheep or if he responds.

"Who are the "they" who want to take Christ out of Christmas? And why would "most people" be "ashamed" or "scared" unless they are ashamed or scared?"

        • fromthediagonal says:

Well if this ftd helped you to let your thoughts bloom into action, then I shall gladly be a florist! :-) In fact, I have been making arrangements for neighbors and friends with branches cut from the bottom of trees at Home Depot. (The guys are happy, less to dispose of!) Add some artificial berries, ribbons and candles, and viola, instant Solstice and Christmas cheer! Keep us posted on any reply, It might be interesting.

    • leahburton says:

Those words are coercive and prey on fear…and that generally works to keep people engaged and discourages critical debate. This notion that those who do not hold the same beliefs – even as other Christians – makes everyone else a "they" creates a divide. It is as though there is a need to feel persecuted whether that is truly occurring or not. I have zero desire to take the Christ out of these people…actually quite the contrary! I would be thrilled if they were to really embrace Christ and the teachings of the New Testament through parables that promote love, compassion and tolerance. They unfortunately seem more comfortable with the "us & them" perspective.

  19. SDECESARE says:

As if Media Matters isnt a biased lie factory funded by Soros.
    Please…….
Read history. This country WAS founded on Chrisitian principles and tolerance NOT RELIGON. Know the difference. Thats way we have a 1st Amendment that states freedom of Religion not freedom from religion or seperation of Church and State as the Lib-tards like to so often quote. There are no such words as Seperation of church and state. To believe otherwise means you havent read the Sources. You are a victim of several generations of misinformation. Just like this crap about being a democrat and caring. You silly fools…..You have been enslaved by both parties! Dems are even worse. Pelosi, Reid, Obama want you to be THEIR flock. Jerks like Sharpton and Jackson have pimped their own race and enslaved their so called flocks for power and money.
Let me tell ya..Ill take Palin over Obama and his group of make believe intellectual social justice BSers any day of the week and twice on Sunday!
