National Militias are no joke…even when they put out trash like this riddled with errors. This is where freedom of speech needs to be revoked, when the President of the United States is directly threatened…

There is  a GREAT article written about the militia movement by Dave Neiwart over at Crooks and Liars, I encourage you to click here and read the entire piece, as well as this article from the Southern Poverty Law Center.

We have been researching militias and they are frightening. They consist of not only paranoid delusional teabaggers, but ‘c’hristian “soldiers for God” types as well. They are well funded not only through private funding sources with direct ties to dominionist organizations, but some are even funded with our tax dollars  as military contractors through the Department of Defense as we have seen in the case of Xe (formerly known as Blackwater).

Within the past weeks we have learned of yet another group that  boldly calls themselves the American National Police Force. Many in the small town of Hardin, Montana are not buying what this militia group is selling. Their presence is steeped in secrecy and an eerie authority that residents find very disquieting and with good reason.

For want of a better word, it would appear they’re a bit of a professional mercenary/rent-a-cop/PI/bounty-hunter firm; basically trying to be like Blackwater/Xe. Most of their operations in the US consist of private security and skip-tracing/private investigation. (this also crosses over with “army for hire” stuff).

An article from the Billings, Montana Gazette describes how the residents are viewing this.

Public records available from state and federal courts and from Web site registrations have raised new questions about a company contracted to operate a detention facility in Hardin, as well as a potential supplier of police equipment to the venture. Kevin Flaherty, owner of the Cryptogon blog, said that plans by APF to provide Hardin with a homeless shelter, computers for schools, free meals for the needy and an animal shelter “read like something out of The Onion,” a satirical newspaper.

Local officials have released almost no details on American Police Force, and company representatives have been tight-lipped, leaving everyone from Hardin residents to rely on Flaherty, who researchers militias.  A section of text on the APF site refers to the company’s “U.S. Training Center,” and matches word for word text from the Web site for Xe, formerly Blackwater. “That company’s U.S. Training Center is touted as the largest facility of its kind”, says Flaherty.

One particularly disturbing note in their skip-tracing work indicates either active partnership with or active infiltration of various public
safety and intelligence agencies. Quite a lot crosses over into frank mercenary “army for hire” stuff, though–especially with international ops:

And there’s information that indicate they also do explicit government contracting as “private armies” a la Blackwater. The similarity to the Serbian national emblem may not be coincidental. It would appear (at least based on photographic evidence) that they do partner or at least provide training services for Serbian police.

The West Coast office is–and I swear I am not making this up–apparently a medical marijuana dispensary; the eastern “office” is naught but a “virtual office” setup where people can literally rent office equipment; the”offices” there are literally private mailbag addresses, and this location is essentially a glorified Mail Boxes Etc./FedEx Kinko’s with rentable-by-the-hour office space

End for now on the input from Alex. There is much more that we will be writing about soon with regard to the connections that go straight to some Joel’s Army sources. Another entity that is trying to find acreage to nest in is calling themselves the Eagle National Security Training Center.

A source sent this stating that, “There’s something pretty spooky going on in Southern Highlands County.  For more than a year unpublicized (not to say secret) negotiations have been proceeding to sell a huge section of the county to a private military group to establish an Eagle National Security Training Center. This is scary- I wonder if this is going to be a training camp for Dominionists.”

We will be sharing more information in a series of articles about these private militias so I will end this entry now. There is a huge amount of information to write about so I will break it up to keep it from becoming so overwhelming.
