Friday Forwards…

Stupid People WarningFriday Forwards will be a compilation of various articles, event notices and videos linking to the most outrageous examples of extremist Dominionism marching forward in the United States against our democracy that I have unearthed in the past week. Time, and not wanting to completely overwhelm you, will keep my sharing of this information limited…as I could not possibly show you all that I see in a week’s time. But what I do share is representative of so much more out there, and much of it never sees the media.

I will pick samplings worth sharing with you that touch on disturbing reports of what is going on across our country in pockets that may not come into view for us through the mainstream media that we all need to know about.

1)  This story is written by the mother of a marine whose son is returning to Iraq for his 3rd tour of duty. This is the latest in several articles she has written to alarm us that there are federal dollars going to establish and operate a frightening virtual war games center at a mall in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania named the American Experience Center.

The center teaches youth to advance as warriors, “With the AEC, the Army is exposing/indoctrinating teens to a very narrow slice of what the Army does – “killing bad guys. The Army has plans to extend these “Experience Centers” across the country.” …this led to two 13 year-olds giving each other high fives in a suburban shopping mall in Philadelphia for “wiping out ragheadswith automatic machine gun fire.

She is appealing to those who live in the area to lend their presence to her protest of the American Experience Center at the Franklin Mills Mall in Philadelphia. Showing up is hard and brave, but it is effective. Philadelphia, btw, is known as “The City of Brotherly Love”…

2)  Secession cries from a rally on August 29, 2009 on the steps of the state capitol in Austin, Texas. The video demonstrates the ignorance and venom of these people and their “patriotic” hate for America.

Pay particular attention to the yellow flags in the crowd with the coiled snake on it which is the flag of the “Constitution Party” that I wrote about previosly, which is the true Party of these religious extremists. Those flags are very significant and are appearing at all the Town Halls on Health Care Reform across the United States.

And…one of my absolute FAVORITE sites that give such great wrap-up views of what is going on, is the The Young Turks. So I must share this one with you…and notice his remarks at the end of this video – when he says,  ”what is more frightening is not that these talking heads of extremism don’t know what they are doing – but conversely, it is that they know EXACTLY what they are doing”, when they (Hannity, Beck Coulter, et al) are out there stumping and igniting the emotions of the ignorant masses.

And the 3rd and final sharing today is an announcement of an upcoming event by one of the leading Dominionist ’apostles’, Cindy Jacobs and her travelling road show will be (coincidentally) in Dallas, Texas September 6, 2009 for a “Convergence Conference“. You may recognize some of her fellow “apostles” who I have posted about in the past with regard to their relationship to Sarah Palin and her church in Wasilla, Alaska. Click on the link to view their video trailer and announcement page of this spiritual warfare event.

3)  Join with Cindy Jacobs and believers from around the globe in Dallas to raise up a prayer army that will fight for the destiny of the USA. Convergence is an urgent call to all believers to engage in spiritual warfare to win back this nation.

In the name of brevity, I will elaborate further on just who these ‘apostles’ are and why we need to know what they are up to in an upcoming post. I think this is enough for one day…

Thanks Leah, as always. Reading all this always fills me with terror, but hopefully by spreading the word and shining the light on these fanatics will help to dilute their influence. We are surrounded by fanatics, not just the Dominionists. The Mormons and Scientologists have both been on the same World domination mission for years. I live in Hawaii and the Mormons rule here although lately, the Evangelicals have moved in and we can see the hate rhetoric coming hard & fast in Letters to the Editor, comments on websites, & government policies etc.. We used to be a totally Democratic state, influenced by the Mormons it is true, but still not obviously right wing, except for the Gay issues. Thankfully we have great solidly Democratic Legislators – so far (they're getting old) and there are more & more Rethugs coming out of the woodwork. I plan on working hard to keep them out. Wouldn't it be nice if all the fanatic cults got in a war with each other and finished themselves off? Yah, I know – wishful thinking. Anyway, I thank you so much for all your efforts. They are greatly appreciated!

I have to say that what you describe happening in Hawaii, except for the Mormon aspect, is what transpired in Alaska back in the 70s. And as the older democrats retired and opted out of public service, and the population changed with the incoming conservatives who were overwhelmingly from the bible-belt areas of the lower 48, Alaska went from being moderate to unapologetically Christian conservative. The biggest magnet that attracted this migration was the pipeline given that many of the workers were from the gulf state oil fields. It continues to surge to this day and I am sorry that you are witnessing a similar transition in Hawaii.

You are doing the right thing by working to oppose their takeover in your state. But don't forget to work towards nurturing responsible progressives with a backbone or they will be as useless as the extremists in the right.

My dad had that same wishful thinking about responding to clashes between criminals. Rather than jumping in to separate them, wouldn't it be nice if you could let them fight it out and reduce the population accordingly… :)

    Hi Leah,

I have a question and am probably showing my ignorance, but how can I get to your comment on the sidebar or ?? which, I think, refers to my last post? The above sez there are 2 comments & I see only mine. I've tried to click on your comment in the side bar to see the rest of your comment & get nothing. What's the secret? :-) Thanks!

    Kat
